We clean out some hoppy beers from the cellar while they are still fresh. We encounter some amazing hop aromas and one makes a delicious mistake. PS. we forgot to do WBAI, tune in next week for the exciting conclusion.
Hoptrip is an amazing Pale Ale, I am happy you got one and didn't sit on it. I had one from last year recently and it just isn't anything near what the fresh bottle is like.
Deschutes is releasing the 2007 Hop Henge Double IPA in a few weeks, and this beer is fantastic. I tried it a couple weeks ago and think they've done a great job at 'hitting the style' - high hops with a great malt backbone.
I have never seen the Great Divide Wet Hopped beer - and we do get some Great Divide beers.
Hopsickle... oh my dear god this beer is a wonderful beer. The brewer is a lady who worked at 3rd Street Aleworks in Santa Rosa before taking the Moylan's job. She's a great brewer. I have never experienced a beer quite like Hopsickle - which can't be confused with an IPA, or a Double IPA. This beer is truly a celebration of hops - and they do a great job of displaying the aroma, flavor and bittering characteristics of American Hops.
I have a case of the 2005 Hopsickle and with aging this turns into a pretty good Barleywine. Amazing how this beer changes in just one year.
So totally bogus that I'm in Seattle and can't get the Hopsickle but you have a bottle in PA! That's a beer I've been practically killing to get ever since first hearing about it all over PBN. Can't wait for a coworker to return with the bottles I purchased over the phone from Portland. I swear I'm drooling just thinking about it.
Hop Trip's a great beer but it's really changed amazingly in the time that's elapsed since the actual trip. A keg at the local has been enjoyable but I miss the gorgeously juicy hop of the older. Rick knows of what he speaks about this AND the Hop Henge. It hit this region last week and I've been loving it; one of those beers you don't say "this was better last year" about.
The Elysian is tasty once in a while but I sure wish you guys had the chance to try a Diamond Knot IPA from out this way. A far more solid Seattle-area IPA.
I know you guys mentioned a few people were experiencing download problems. I had a bit of a mishap myself while downloading with iTunes. It only downloaded the first 10 minutes or so of the show and for some reason iTunes thought it was fully downloaded. I knew better, so what I did was this:
1. Deleted the partially downloaded file from the My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts/Craft Beer Radio/ folder.
2. Downloaded the file from the direct link on cbr.com into the same folder.
3. Double clicked the show in the podcast feed in iTunes.
4. iTunes says it can't find the file and if I would like to locate it.
5. Clicked 'Yes' and pointed it to the file I just downloaded.
Perhaps this will help a few people.
Craft Beer Radio is an Internet talk show about craft and micro brewed beers. The mission of the show is to spread the word of good beer. We introduce people to craft beer, and teach them about different beer styles, brewers who make them, and beer history. Whether you are new to craft beer or have been drinking it for more than 20 years we have something for you.

Gary sent us the Hopsickle,
Gary sent us the Hopsickle, so don't worry, there is no strange wormhole between california and here.
