CBR 101: Year of the Goat

This show we sample some american bocks and doppelbocks. Jeff learns a lesson that some beers can't be cellared for two and a half years. Greg learns that American High alpha hops have no place in a Doppelbock. And we both wonder what the hell happened to the normally delicious St. Nick Bock.

Too Many Penn. Beers

Was going to send you a message teasing you about doing too many Pennsylvania beers (because of what you said about comments you received to that effect, in early shows).
After listening to the whole show, my thoughts are that you did, in fact, do too many Pennsylvania beers on this episode. Why? Because the episode's results are negative enough that it sounds like PA is a bad place for bocks.
Sure, it's just a coincidence. None of it is your fault. But it's kind of sad that both the St. Nick and the Victory were so off and that even the Erie ended up sounding like a so-so beer. Isn't PA supposed to be "German lager heaven?"

Having said this... Had the GB bock at Dulles airport and it was a decent beer. Not my favorite bock so far, but tasty and drinkable. Better than Shiner bock.

Hey, the Victory was over 2+

Hey, the Victory was over 2+ years past prime and that was noted. You have to give a pass there.
