I did an experiment to see which Czech pilsner I preferred. I got my wife to pour 3 beers without me seeing and I tasted them: Budweiser Budvar, Staropromen & Pilsner Urquell. I previously preferred the Budvar.
On blind tasting I preferred Urquell.
I'm guessing that because I know that Staropromen & Urquell are owned by international brewing companies and Budvar is Czech owned still - also the Bud (US) v Bud (Czech)legal wars - it had made my beer drinking political.
Other factors I find that alter your beer judgement: being on holiday, good company & served in a nice glass.
The best way to judge beer is to lock yourself in a cellar and drink with the same person all the time - just like Jeff & Greg!

Craft Beer Radio is an Internet talk show about craft and micro brewed beers. The mission of the show is to spread the word of good beer. We introduce people to craft beer, and teach them about different beer styles, brewers who make them, and beer history. Whether you are new to craft beer or have been drinking it for more than 20 years we have something for you.
If you have comments or questions that you would like us to read over the air, Email Us.

Price was only part of it, I was speaking towards:
"one study has shown that knowing the ingredients and name brand of a beer can increase the drinker’s pleasure."
