Love them or hate them, I just learned that it is because of 3 1/2 years of Stone's effort that craft brewers (and big brewers if they dared I suppose) are allowed to use the names "Imperial Russian Stout" and/or "Russian Imperial Stout." They got the beer labeling laws amended in 2005, the first time it had been amended since 1935, when they determined that India Pale Ale was alright to use on labeling. The Feds' beef was they thought the word "Russian" lured consumers into thinking the product was from Russia. Whatever.
Also, Vinnie Cilurzo apparently says "It is what it is" about sour ales.
