Hmm, let me see. We were talking about Mars microbes through terraforming, right? I think I was going to say something like "If you have liquid water (and Mars would need a much thicker atmosphere to support liquid water on the surface for any appreciable period of time before it evaporates) and you introduce earth microbes (that you assume would be specially chosen/created for the task) you'd expect them to take hold pretty quickly. Sunlight is considerably less on Mars than on Earth but not so much that photosynthesis can't happen. And if you have photosynthesis, you have chlorophyll, and you have green.
At least, that's my not-so-educated thoughts on the matter.
Who knows where we would have gone from there, the garageband, it is a fickle beast. We won't be doing that again.
