On vacation, Jeff visited Pottsville, Pennsylvania, home of Yuengling, America's oldest Brewery. We went on the brewery tour and also interviewed Dick Yuengling - who happened to be hanging out in the gift shop.
A nice video and a real piece of history Jeff; thanks for that. A couple things:
1. It's weird that you look at the camera instead of Mr. Yuengling when interviewing him; it makes it look like you're ignoring him or don't care what he's saying.
2. That tour guide was bloody awful. That was completely rehearsed/memorized and without emotion...even the crappy jokes...
3. Mmm corn grits. Also, something not to do with you, but it bothered me that the tour guide kept saying "cooking" instead of boiling, which makes me worry about their brewing process. Though, I really really don't like Yuengling, so that may not mean much.
4. Those caves were awesome.
5. How many kegs did you steal?
I always seek out any breweries around when I go on vacation, so this was awesome. I loved seeing the caves; this was something I've never seen in a brewery before, since most of the brewery tours I go on are of craft breweries, which are no more than 25 years old.
It was also great with the interview in the beginning. Having been on so many tours before, I knwo what the brewing process is. What I want to know is the story. What makes this brewery different from every other one I've toured.
Craft Beer Radio is an Internet talk show about craft and micro brewed beers. The mission of the show is to spread the word of good beer. We introduce people to craft beer, and teach them about different beer styles, brewers who make them, and beer history. Whether you are new to craft beer or have been drinking it for more than 20 years we have something for you.
