Give it a crack. The pilot was terrible, the first episode changed a few things. It's getting better. It's cheesy, dated, formulaic, tacky... but enjoyable. It's all the things the original was, retro and updated/modern at the same time. Hell, you might still hate it, but you'll only have wasted a little bit of your life. Have a good beer while you watch, then it's not a waste! :) Also, tell me Val Kilmer as KITT doesn't sound like Tim Russ as Tuvok. Too nerdy? Meh.
