CBR 125: We Approve This Podcast

Listener Mike from San Diego sent us a nice care package of beers which on this show we sample. San Diego has a fantastic beer scene and thanks to Mike we get to get some insight that East Coasters normally would not get. As you hear all too often these days; We are Craft Beer Radio, and we approve this podcast.

Too bad Lost Abbey/Pizza Port only won 1 medal, and for Hop 15, which you didn't have :-/ though apparently Port Carlsbad is separate from them (they are listed as winning 5 separate medals).

Oh well, you had some stupendous beers there in my opinion. I have one of those Cali-Belgique (which is a very limited release by the way). I think you guys got a bad one; from what I hear they taste quite a bit like Epic 080808. Inferno Ale was pretty good, and I found NeGoean very boring, but probably spot on for a historic saison.

The blonde woman you should know is Hildegard from Urthel, who the collaboration is with, and she did that "funny picture" (no really, I agree it looks funny).

Jeff-"Mine smells better than yours."
Greg-"I wonder why that is?"

Well, obviously we don't know where Greg has been.

And wtf (sorry, Jeff bleeped me) is with the bleeping? Do children listen to the main show about beer tasting? I thought that you guys had gotten sort of rough on the main show before.

Blossom had 114 episodes according to Wikipedia (THE most reliable source of information).

PS-Try Chimay Grand Cru cheese (yes, from the brewery, and yes, like $28 a pound). It is creamy and funky. Goes really well mixed with either white stilton or white cheddar...I forget which is was we were eating with it.

Belgians from Southern Cal

You guys had quite the selection there. Glad to see the best of Southern California represented, and really glad you both enjoyed Patrick's Saison Rue. I find all of The Bruery's beers fantastic and I hope they were represented well at the GABF, even if they didn't medal.

Thanks for showing some left coast love.

Humbolt Fog

I got to try it not to long ago and think it is very awesome. Once a year we vist some friends in Pittsburgh and we always take a trip to the strip district ( I think Greg said he worked near by). In the strip district there is a shop called Pennsylvania Macaroni and they have a cheese shop and we always buy lots of cheese. I bought some Humbolt fog there this time I think they have it for 13$ a lbs. They also have some other cheeses from Cypress grove I also bought the Midnight Moon it also good. I have loved cheese longer than I have loved beer when my brother and I were little we would ask for cheese for christmas because we did not get it all the time. Keep up the great work and yes some of us still listen 40min in to the postshow.

Ah, Macraroni Company, I

Ah, Macraroni Company, I had a feeling they or someplace on the strip would have good cheese. I'm going to have to make it down there soon. maybe go shopping in the morning and have lunch at the church.
