CBR (not) @ '08 GABF ?

Hi all,

What did I miss ? .. I thought that Jeff & Greg were going to take some of their CD $$ from donations and go to the GABF this year ?

I was waiting in late Oct. and Nov. for all that great content !

So, if anyone knows the back story (i.e. Jeff or Greg) please enlighten me.

Also, if it's not bad etiquette, please direct me to other podcasts, which may have had some good coverage of the GABF '08.

And, if it were up to me, I'd have the GABF fly Jeff and Greg out to Denver to record their event, as I think Jeff did an excellent job in '07.

The Brewing Network are the

The Brewing Network are the official coverage of GABF for last year and this year (and likely next year). They have the widest audience for a beer radio show (they live stream it, so it technically isn't podcasting).

They can be found at http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/

More specifically, for GABF coverage:

http://thebrewingnetwork.com/shows/The-Sunday-Session/The-Session-10-09-08-GABF-08-Day-1

http://thebrewingnetwork.com/shows/The-Sunday-Session/The-Session-10-10-08-GABF-08-Day-2

I think they performed a Jamil Show live there last year (without him), but this year I don't believe they did. The main guy, as well as one of their best friends lost their fathers around that time, and so understandably there wasn't as much content this year.

Hope that helps,

Is it official that they are Official ???

Is it official that they are Official ???

Hi JDZJ,

Thanks for the info.

I wish that CBR would be the official (or if not, the best) coverage of the GABF '09.

I have listened to those guys over at the BN and they can get a bit crazy and a bit long ! I'll have to give it a listen and see how it was.

As you may know, Jeff, did a great job in '07 with taping panels and interviews. Just think what they could have done if they had tied into a sound board !

I'll give a listen. Thanks for your post.

What's the email for the GABF so we can maybe get some plane tickets and hotel rooms sent to SW Pennsylvania, so the bois from CRB may give us some great content in '09.

oh, and btw, Jeff and Greg get PLENTY CRAZY in their pre- and post- shows {ears cringing}, but they don't put it out in their main show.

Cheers !

Glad that I could help.

Glad that I could help. According to them they are the official coverage of the GABF. I take Justin at his word; I don't think that he would lie about something like that, but you never know. They certainly do get long. I try and reserve them for when I'm sitting at my computer working or at work working. Jeff certainly did do a great job in '07. I am well aware of the craziness that is pre- and post- show, I've been an avid listener of it for a year now :-).

All in all, I think that GABF is a big enough event that they can afford to have multiple people covering it. I know beer fans won't mind listening to a few shows. I think they especially need more coverage after the BN's poor excuse of coverage this year. Oh well, we shall see.

Well...

There were several things:

Greg could not get off with his new job. I decided not to do it solo and leave Heather alone with Allison. I apologize if you intended your donations to go for the 08 GABF. The money is still in the bank for use in CBR Travel.

In 2009 I intend on covering:

- Philadelphia Beer Week
- Savor
- Great American Beer Fest.

No Sweat ...

No Sweat.

Things come up .. and things change (i.e. new baby). I was just curious with a bit of a build up in the past.

Well, looking forward to the '09 coverage .. and maybe if I can get "my ducks lined up" also, I may see you there !

Cheers!

PS: Thank you too, to the above post with links to other coverage from '08 :-)

No problem

Things happen and life gets in the way sometimes. But I'll be looking forward to the SAVOR coverage :)

As much as I look forward to the regular shows, the SAVOR and GABF coverage was worth listening to a couple of time each. And worth a donation
